A South Bend man will spend the next six years in prison after leading police on a high-speed chase while armed with multiple guns.

Quervo Taylor, 26, pleaded guilty to being a convicted criminal in possession of a firearm.

Court documents state that officers attempted to stop Taylor, but he led them on a chase across St. Joseph County.

The chase lasted more than 30 minutes and reached speeds over 100 mph.

Taylor was eventually apprehended when a barrier arm at South Bend International Airport prevented him from driving any further.

Taylor threw two loaded firearms out the vehicle’s window, and police seized them.

According to court documents, one of the firearms was equipped with a machine gun conversion component, and both had extended magazines.

Taylor has a criminal history that includes crimes for carrying a pistol without a license within 500 feet of a school, possessing methamphetamine, and resisting law officers.

He’ll serve 82 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release.
