Two Milwaukee men are charged with first-degree intentional homicide in connection with a deadly shooting on Sunday, December 21, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday, December 26.
Prosecutors charged 20-year-old Eduin George and 21-year-old Jose Talavera-Quezada of killing a 24-year-old between 97th and Beatrice. Milwaukee police responded to the shooting around 3:50 a.m., and the man died on the scene.
According to the complaint, the victim’s girlfriend reported being awakened by two masked males with firearms in their flat. She recognized one as George and explained that they had previously lived with him. The other man advised her to leave with the children.
According to the complaint, the masked men dragged the victim out of bed and into the hallway. The girlfriend overheard the victim saying to George, “Are you going to kill me?” She told police that both masked males raised their firearms and began shooting him at the same time.
On December 22, police arrested George and Talavera-Quezada during a traffic stop. A 9mm gun was discovered under the driver’s seat, and tests determined that it was used in the homicide, according to officials. A search of Talavera-Quezada’s home revealed another 9mm gun linked to casings at the scene.
During an interview, George said he drove while Talavera-Quezada and a third person walked inside and shot the victim, though he later acknowledged to touching both firearms used in the crime.
