A woman was transported to the hospital after being discovered shot inside an apartment on the city’s South Side Tuesday night.
At 6:42 p.m., Chicago police officers responded to the 6700 block of South Crandon Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, they found the unidentified victim inside the flat, suffering from a gunshot wound to the mouth.
She was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in an unclear condition.
Police did not specify what led up to the shooting.
As of Tuesday night, no arrests had been made.
Area 1 detectives are conducting an investigation.
