Rev. Donald Ernest Roach, 83

Rev. Donald Ernest Roach, 83, of Hartford, WV, passed away February 3, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Point Pleasant, WV.

He was born June 16, 1934 in Gibbstown, WV, a son of late Ernest and Laura (Kearns) Roach. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his loving wife of 50 years, Freda Mae Roach; brothers, William, Lester, Darrell and John (Ann) Roach; sisters, Mary Virginia (Norman) Smith, Lola (Charles) Black, Sarah (David) Gwilym, Margaret (Lester) Smith and Ada (Paul) Fraley.

He was a United States Marine veteran. He was a retired foreman from A.E.P. Meigs Mine # 1. He was the founder and pastor of the True Gospel Church, Gibbstown, WV, for 38 years. He was the caretaker of the Zerkle and Clifton Cemeteries and enjoyed gardening and mowing.

Survivors include his sons, Donald E. Roach Jr., Bill (Mary) Roach and Adam (Keawana) Roach all of Hartford, WV; daughters, Tammy (Steve) Arthur of Beckley and Lisa (Jeff) Mead of Hartford; grandchildren, Krista, Laura, Sarah, William, Hayden, Cole, Morgan and Weston Roach, D.R. (Renee) Williamson, Kendra (Jordan) Gregory, Ray (Leah) Bragg, A.J. Roush, Marshall and Christian Varian; great-grandchildren, Logan Roach, Emma Stewart, Jaelyn and Makinley Williamson, Blaine Bragg; sister in laws, Grace and Thelma Roach.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor Jeff Mead officiating. Burial will follow in Zerkle Cemetery, Letart, WV, with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post #9926 Mason, WV and American Legion Post 140 New Haven, WV. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements provided by Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV.
