Two 18-year-old suspects were indicted and arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in November.
Zyaire Neugene Carter and Jayden Sarinara face a 23-count indictment for first-degree murder with a firearm, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, unauthorized use of a weapon, burglary, and other offenses.
Kevin Cooper, 56, was shot early on November 1, 2025, on the 9300 block of Southeast Ramona Street. He died of complications on December 12, 2025.
Carter has been detained since November on unrelated counts of attempted murder.
Sarinara has been in custody since early January on unrelated robbery charges, according to jail records.
According to court filings, Sarinara and other suspects looted a liquor store located at 5120 SE Powell Blvd on October 31, 2025.
Anna Hyde, the 73-year-old owner, was dragged across the parking lot while attempting to retrieve the stolen things from the suspects.
Carter was previously arrested on attempted murder charges following a gunshot at the Space Age Gas Station on October 26, 2025.
According to court filings, he was involved in a firefight with another defendant at the petrol station at 8410 SE Foster Road, where gunfire was fired.
Carter drove away without paying for petrol, leaving the gas pump in the car, according to a gas station attendant.
Sarinara and Carter are scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. on murder charges.
