A person was discovered dead in a body of water along a major and heavily trafficked road in a northwest Chicago suburb Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
Officers and firefighters from West Dundee were conducting an investigation near the Route 31 and Boncosky Road intersection.
“Despite the large presence of resources, the matter does not involve a concern for public safety,” the department said in an alert to residents.
According to the Kane County Coroner’s Office, a man was discovered deceased in a body of water, and the next of kin were being notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
The coroner’s office intends to identify the individual after the autopsy is conducted.
