Woman Sentenced To Prison After Deadly Motorcycle Crash In Gilbert

Gilbert police say the woman who hit and killed a motorcyclist late last year pled guilty and is now in jail.

According to records, Brandi Colangelo, 33, was placed into the Maricopa County Jail on Monday for her 15-day sentence.

On January 22, police said she pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor charge of inflicting significant physical damage or death by driving violations.

Gilbert Police said Colangelo was driving around Gilbert and Ray roads on November 4, 2025, when she hit and killed a motorcyclist.

Investigators say she failed to yield when making a left turn at the junction and collided with 61-year-old Don Porter, who died at the scene.
