Homicide suspect apprehended 1 month after fatal fight in Phoenix

A suspect was apprehended on Tuesday in connection with a fatal altercation in Phoenix last month, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department identified Dylan Bailey, 26, as the person arrested and booked into jail on a second-degree murder allegation.

Bailey faces further charges of hazardous drug possession and bringing contraband into a correctional facility.

The allegations arise from a fight on December 13 near Eleventh and Vogel Avenues.

Officers responded at 2:20 p.m. to complaints of a dispute and discovered 55-year-old Chad Petersen with injuries consistent with a physical altercation. Bailey allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Petersen was hospitalized and died of his injuries a week later.

Bailey’s bond amount was set at $500.
