4 People Arrested After Gambling Den Busted In City Heights

Four people were arrested Wednesday morning after San Diego Police executed a search warrant at an alleged illegal gambling operation in the City Heights neighborhood, according to officials.

According to officials, the Vice Unit supported the Narcotics Unit in carrying out the warrant at a residence in the 4300 block of Central Avenue. Multiple specialized teams participated in the operation, including SWAT, the Drone Unit, the Gun Violence Restraining Order Team, Mid-City’s Crime Suppression Team, and patrol officers.

During the search, officers detained four people on gambling charges. Police also seized nine gambling machines, totaling $625 in cash.

Officers also found a loaded Ruger 9mm LCP semi-automatic handgun inside the home, according to authorities.

The investigation is underway. No other information was immediately available.
