A contractor working at CVS was discovered deceased inside a trash compactor Wednesday evening.
The man has been named as Andrew Strand, 34, of Brunswick.
According to Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole, Strand’s wife contacted them just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
She informed detectives that she grew concerned when she hadn’t heard from her husband and traced his phone to the CVS on the 17000 block of Chagrin Blvd.
According to Commander Cole, the wife informed authorities that her husband was undertaking contract work at the site.
Officers investigated the property and discovered Strand inside the trash compactor at the rear.
Commander Cole noted that the facts surrounding the occurrence are still being investigated, and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is investigating the cause and manner of death.
“We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” according to Commander Cole.
