Police in Santa Ana are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred outside a house party late Saturday night.
According to a Santa Ana Police Department announcement, officers were summoned to the 700 block of South Broadway at 11:10 p.m. after receiving a complaint of a shooting outside a house party.
Arriving authorities discovered three persons shot in the road: a 41-year-old male, a 20-year-old man, and a 37-year-old woman.
All of the victims received life-saving treatment from first responders; unfortunately, the 41-year-old man died as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
He was recognized as Santa Ana resident Moises Rufino Gil-Benitez.
The remaining two gunshot victims are expected to live, according to authorities.
As of Sunday morning, authorities had not determined the reason for the shooting. Detectives from the Santa Ana Police Department’s Homicide Section are working to find and locate additional witnesses who can provide information.
