Former Plymouth Man Arrested In Chicago

Edin Omar Henriquez-Galeano, 38, of Illinois and previously of Plymouth, was arrested for an overdue

The arrest warrant was issued in May 2018 for sexual misconduct with a minor, a category 4 felony.

The Plymouth Police Department investigated the case in 2018. He was declared a fugitive from justice in 2018 after he fled the area to evade prosecution. Crime analysts with the Indiana State Police have discovered information that could lead to the suspect’s current whereabouts in Illinois.

This information was then passed on to Captain Jeff Snyder of the Marshall County Police Department, who coordinated extradition attempts from out of state and worked with the US Marshals Service to apprehend the fugitive. On January 29th, 2026, US Marshals apprehended Henriquez-Galeano and took him to the Cook County Jail in Chicago, where he awaited extradition to Marshall County.

On February 5th, 2026, Henriquez-Galeano was returned to Marshall County, where he is being held on a $25,000 cash bail and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
