COLUMBUS, Ohio – Each year, the Ohio State Fair employs more than 600 individuals in a wide variety of positions from information services to ticket sales. Next week, representatives from the 12-day Fair will hold open interviews to allow enthusiastic individuals the opportunity to find a fun summer job that creates everlasting memories.

Working at the Fair provides flexibility during the summer months while giving employees the opportunity to earn wages and enjoy an Ohio tradition. Hired employees must be able to work the 12 days of the Fair. Additionally, they can use their employee badge to receive entry to the Fair as much as they would like, July 25 through August 5, 2018.

There are a variety of seasonal positions available for hire such as ticket sellers, shuttle drivers, traffic control, Guest Information Services booth attendants and more.

Interested candidates may pick up an application for Fair positions now, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (except normal holidays), at the rear southwest door of the Administration Building in the Human Resources office. Applications can also be downloaded and printed online at ohiostatefair.com/jobs.

Open interviews for Fair positions will be conducted on June 18, 19 and 20. Interviews will be conducted from noon to 3:30 pm in the Ohio Building, located on the south side of the Ohio Expo Center off 17th Avenue. Ask the gate attendant to direct you to the Ohio Building.

Applicants must bring two forms of identification, such as a valid driver’s license and social security card. Job seekers under age 18 must also bring a certified copy of their birth certificate. Applicants are expected to bring their resume along with them (you can try using this resume scanner to make sure it’s perfect before the big day!) to show to employers. No applications will be accepted after June 20. The process will be expedited if job seekers have already completed the employment packet available at ohiostatefair.com/job-postings.

The Fair is not offering positions for rides, games or concessions. Positions for applications under the age of 18 are extremely limited. For more information on these job opportunities, candidates may call the Ohio State Fair human resources office at (614) 466-6520.

The Ohio Expo Center is proud to host the Ohio State Fair. With big-name entertainment, educational activities, hundreds of exhibits and one of the largest junior livestock shows in the nation, the 2018 Ohio State Fair will run July 25 – Aug. 5.
