McDonald sentenced on community control violations

POMEROY, Ohio – A Rutland man has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison.

According to Meigs County Prosecuting Attorney James K. Stanley, on June 20, 2018, Harley McDonald, 36, of Rutland, Ohio, was found to have violated the terms of his community control. McDonald had been on community control for a 2009 case in which he was convicted of Burglary, Breaking and Entering, two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, and Escape. McDonald already served three years in prison for the Escape conviction and eighteen months in prison for one of the Receiving Stolen Property convictions.

After finding McDonald had violated the terms of his community control, Meigs County Court of Common Pleas Judge I. Carson Crow sentenced McDonald to five years in prison for the Burglary conviction, to one year in prison for the Breaking and Entering conviction, and to eighteen months in prison for the remaining Receiving Stolen Property conviction, for a total prison sentence of seven and a half years.
