Two people have been sentenced to prison for a deadly heist in Phoenix that claimed the life of a teenager.
On July 28, 2024, a 17-year-old kid was shot and killed near 7th Avenue and Buckeye Road. Two individuals, Agel Chan Ring, 19, and Nathan Da Ron James, 20, were later detained for their involvement in the incident.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office just announced that both offenders were sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Ring was sentenced to 22 years in prison, while James received a 13-year sentence, according to the MCAO.
Prosecutors claim Ring shot the man twice in the chest after luring him out under the guise of buying marijuana. The offenders then stole things from the victim.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell stated that her office encounters “cases like this far too often.”
