Two people were taken into custody Sunday after police found them inside a storage shed at a Madisonville storage facility.
According to the Madisonville Police Department, officers were patrolling the Shedtech storage facility when they heard voices coming from a blue storage shed behind the property.
When police approached two people, subsequently identified as Rick Romig and Christine Williams, they walked out of the shed.
During questioning, Romig informed investigators that the pair had been staying within the shed for several nights. Officers discovered personal items inside the shed that looked to belong to the two people.
Police also discovered rubbish littered about the shed and in the grassy area behind it. According to authorities, Romig stated that he and Williams had half a bottle of vodka before throwing it into a swampy area behind the shed.
Officers stated that they could smell alcohol on both people.
Romig and Williams were arrested and sent to the Hopkins County Jail.
Both are charged with criminal trespassing, littering, and public intoxication.
