Police: Georgia Teacher Dies In Toilet Paper Prank Gone Wrong

A teacher in Georgia died during a toilet paper prank after being run over by a vehicle, according to authorities.

According to Hall County Sheriff’s deputies, Jason Hughes saw a bunch of youths toilet-papering the trees outside his home. After Hughes came the v, the party boarded two vehicles to leave.

Hughes tripped and fell into the road as one of the youths began driving, and he was driven over by one of the vehicles.

The teenagers came to a halt and attempted to render aid while assistance arrived. Hughes died at the hospital, according to authorities.

The driver, Jayden Ryan Wallace, was detained on the spot and charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, criminal trespass, and pollution on private land. Four further teenagers were arrested and charged with criminal trespass and pollution on private property.

In a statement received by The New York Times, Hughes’ wife Laura Hughes stated that their family did not want the youngsters arrested. She reportedly said Hughes adored the students and was “excited” to catch them pranking his house.

“This is a terrible tragedy, and our family is determined to prevent a separate tragedy from occurring, ruining the lives of these students,” Laura Hughes said.

Police stated the event is still under investigation.
