Two women were detained Saturday evening after allegedly forcing their way into a New Orleans East apartment and assaulting another woman.
Officers detained the two at the scene in the 9000 block of Chef Menteur Highway, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have not disclosed any details about the victim or the accusations the suspects may face.
Police identified Melissa Keith, 43, and Cathy Solena, 54, as the suspects, according to WDSU. According to the publication, both ladies were arrested at the residence after authorities allege they pushed their way inside and assaulted the victim.
In recent months, police have responded to many incidents on Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans East.
Law enforcement has frequently shown interest in the corridor and surrounding communities, according to reports of pursuits and violent crime investigations.
Police tell WDSU that the investigation is still ongoing. Officers detained both ladies at the apartment, and investigators are continuing to investigate as the case progresses.
