Pastor Roy R. Hunter, 73

Pastor Roy R. Hunter, 73, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2018 at home on the farm at Storys Run, Cheshire, Ohio.

Born November 5, 1945 in Henlawson, West Virginia, Roy was the son of the late Monte Bernard and Brooke Martin Hunter.

Roy worked for years as a timekeeper with Union Boiler before answering the call of his Lord to become the fulltime Pastor of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Pomeroy, Ohio where he served from 1991 until his passing.

He served the Lord with gladness and rejoicing, teaching the Word of God that he dearly loved. He devoted his life to the ministry and selfless service of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bernard Hunter, Pearl Sutphin, Goldie Morrow, Edna Mae Freeman, Vernie Perry, Bernie Hunter, June Stowers, Wilma Stover, Curtis Hunter and Merle Hunter.

Roy is survived by his loving son Monty (Jennifer) Hunter, two beautiful granddaughters Hilda and Vera, sister Roberta (Jerry) Temple, brother Dallas (Melba) Hunter, many nieces, nephews, loving church family and friends.

Funeral services will be at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, Ohio, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 4, from 6 to 8 p.m.
