A Maryland man visiting family in Michigan stopped on his way to the airport and won a $1 million lottery win.
According to Michigan Lottery officials, the 46-year-old man stopped at Forest Liquor on Trumbull Street in Detroit to prepare for his journey home. “I was in Michigan visiting family and stopped by the store on my way to the airport,” the athlete explained. “I told the cashier to give me a few lottery tickets and then stuffed them in my bag to scratch later.”
The man admitted to not checking the tickets first. I forgot about the tickets, and it wasn’t until a few days later that I discovered and scratched them off. When I saw that I had won $1 million, I thought, ‘This can’t be true. I texted a picture of the ticket to a friend to make sure I was reading it correctly, and he assumed it was a joke ticket. We were both in disbelief. “This is such a blessing,” he stated.
The winner stated that a portion of his profits from the $10 Lucky Numbers scratch-off ticket will go towards another vacation.
