A former Manor police officer was sentenced to three years probation for impersonating a UPMC police officer at a health system building and stealing credit cards and a key from an employee’s office, according to Allegheny County court records.
Justin R. Hall, 41, of Washington Township, pled guilty and was sentenced last week on counts including defiant trespass, impersonating a governmental agent, stealing, and harassment. Court records show that burglary and stalking charges have been dropped.
According to court documents, UPMC police charged Hall in January 2024 in connection with an incident that month at a building in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, which was captured on security camera. A UPMC employee, identified by officials as Hall’s ex-girlfriend, reported 14 credit cards and a key missing from her office.
According to court documents, another employee informed investigators that she encountered a man who introduced himself as a police officer and displayed a “UPMC Police” badge. The facility was closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
According to authorities, Hall served as a UPMC officer until July 2021.
He was let go as a Manor police officer in February 2024, according to borough officials.
Prior to his arrest, Hall was serving a six-week suspension from the Manor Police Department, according to officials. The suspension was not related to the criminal allegations.
According to court papers, Hall was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol testing as well as mental health tests, and to avoid contact with the victim and UPMC unless seeking medical care.
