Toledo police search for suspect accused of using fake ID to steal from bank, also wanted in Oklahoma

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are searching for a suspect accused of fraudulently withdrawing money from a local bank, an individual also wanted by authorities in Oklahoma City.

Police said in a Facebook post Thursday morning that the suspect took funds from an account at Directions Credit Union on Tremainsville Road by allegedly using false identification. Officials did not disclose the amount withdrawn from the account.

A spokesperson for Toledo police confirmed to WTOL 11 that authorities are also seeking the suspect in Oklahoma City for a similar offense. According to a Facebook post from the Oklahoma City Police Department on March 31, the suspect presented a fraudulent passport while attempting to access an account.

Oklahoma City police said a bank employee started questioning the suspect, who then “ran out of the bank,” leaving the passport behind.

Back in Toledo, TPD said detectives are actively investigating other possible incidents involving the suspect across Lucas County.

Police ask anyone with information about the suspect to call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
