The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation after a man and a dog were discovered inside a burnt dumpster early Monday morning.
According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department officials, workers responded to a suspected trash fire at a company on Heckscher Drive shortly after midnight. After quenching the flames, firefighters discovered the man and dog inside the dumpster.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that detectives are now studying security footage and questioning witnesses as part of the investigation.
Authorities said there are no initial indicators of foul play. The investigation is underway.
