2 People Arrested For Catalytic Converter Theft In Early Morning Search

Cypress Police Department night shift police nabbed two people in connection with a catalytic converter theft reported in the early morning hours of April 17, 2026. After receiving a report of the theft, officers searched the surrounding residential area and discovered a vehicle matching the perpetrators’ description.

Law enforcement conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the occupied vehicle, detaining both occupants. Both individuals were recognized as Los Angeles citizens and were found to be on probation. Additionally, one suspect was discovered to have many outstanding warrants for her arrest.

A search of the car turned up the stolen catalytic converter, as well as a vehicle jack, gloves, and numerous power tools. Both defendants were detained on accusations of grand theft and conspiracy, in addition to the existing warrants. They were then booked into the Orange County Jail.
