Florida resident detained after large drug bust in Mississippi

A Florida woman has been arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking after a traffic check on Interstate 10, according to authorities.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office stated the stop happened Wednesday and resulted in the finding of more than six pounds of cocaine.

Amy Broadt, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, faces aggravated cocaine trafficking charges.

According to deputies, a K9 unit alerted them to the possibility of narcotics during the stop. A later search of the vehicle revealed cocaine in the trunk.

The case has been turned over to Harrison County narcotics officers for additional investigation.
