A woman who previously served prison time for stealing $740,000 from a local union now faces new charges for allegedly stealing from a local business that appears to have given her a second chance.
Diana Frey, 66, faces charges of theft, unauthorized use of property, and telecommunications fraud.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich said Frey stole from Weil Thoman Moving and Storage in St. Bernard between 2017 and the end of 2025. According to Pillich, Frey manipulated the company’s financial records and inflated payroll figures to defraud the business of up to $400,000.
“It is shameful that Diana Frey was given a second chance and took advantage of a person who wanted to help her,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich said. “But in all cases, we take allegations of financial crimes seriously, particularly when they impact local businesses and livelihoods.”
Frey first stole from the Cincinnati Organized and Dedicated Employees Union, or CODE. She used the money to fund a lavish lifestyle, including travel and a vacation home. She pleaded guilty in 2011.
If convicted of the new charges, Frey could face up to 26 years in prison. She is not currently in jail.
