Teen faces charge after Columbus woman dies days after being shot

Detectives have charged a 15-year-old boy after a woman died several days following a shooting.

Columbus police said officers responded to the 1000 block of Oakwood Avenue just before 10 p.m. on May 25 after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Samyra Dumas suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was pronounced dead on April 28. Police charged the 15-year-old with reckless homicide and placed him in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
