Police: Woman used bear spray after complaining about sandwich at German Village restaurant

Customers at a south Columbus coffee shop needed medical attention after an allegedly upset customer sprayed them with bear spray.

According to Columbus police, officers responded to the German Village coffee shop on Thurman Avenue at 1:13 p.m. Thursday. Police spoke with several victims who said a woman had sprayed them with bear spray.

Witnesses told police that a customer became upset after disliking a sandwich she ordered. An argument reportedly broke out between the woman and employees before she left the restaurant.

Police said the woman later returned with bear spray and began spraying the victims, who received treatment at the scene. She then drove off in a burgundy Ford Taurus.
