9 Mainers taken into custody in Massachusetts for allegedly blocking entrance to ICE facility

Nine Mainers are facing charges in Massachusetts after protesting outside an ICE facility.

According to officials, approximately 40 protesters blocked the facility’s administrative entrance on Tuesday.

Some people captured in Maine during “Operation Catch of the Day” in January were sent to a Burlington facility.

Police say 12 protesters who refused to leave the entryway were arrested.

All 12 have now been released from custody.

They are scheduled to appear in court for trespassing and disturbing the peace charges.

Burlington police have not revealed the identities of those arrested.
