Fundraiser dinner set to benefit Mulberry Community Kitchen
POMEROY, Ohio – The Mulberry Community Kitchen will hold a fundraiser dinner on April 28, 2019 at the Community Center.
The dinner is being held to help raise funds for the Community Kitchen. One of the reasons for the event is to raise money to off-set the cost of a new commercial refrigerator for the kitchen according to Pastor Brenda Barnhart. She told us that she had spoken to a number of commercial refrigeration companies and has finally managed to find a fridge that is up to the job. She is one of the people helping to put on the fundraiser. One of the refrigerators recently failed and a new one was needed. It is said that the Community Kitchen is looking to have a good clean too, such as Kitchen extractor cleaning, to prepare for the new refrigerator and other equipment they’re able to purchase with any leftover money from the fundraiser.
While insurance helped with most of the cost of the fridge replacement in the Mulberry Community Kitchen, unfortunetly there is still a gap that need to be covered by the fundraiser.
The Mulberry Community Kitchen serves meals from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The community is invited to attend for “good food and socialization – all ages welcome.”
There are no income guidelines for the meals. A full meal is $3 and the soup and salad bar are $1.
On the menu this week for April 9, 2019 is vegetable soup, meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, fried cabbage roll, and apple crisp. For April 11, the menu is scheduled to be bean soup, taco bake, corn, jello with fruit, and cookies. The menu is subject to change.
