Three people have been arrested and federally charged following a multi-county drug investigation in Central Texas, according to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.
Authorities identified the accused as Broughm Cheyenne Pate, Matthew Devin Badger, and Christopher Monroe Sanders. All three have been charged with conspiracy to possess with the purpose to distribute a controlled drug.
Following a lengthy investigation into a narcotics conspiracy, the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit and the Waco Police Department narcotics Enforcement Unit collaborated on a joint operation on May 5.
Several agencies assisted with the operation, including the Sheriff’s Office SWAT squad, the Fugitive Apprehension and Special Tasks team, the Waco Police Department SWAT team, the United States Marshals Service, the Teague Police Department, and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators executed search warrants and made arrests in McLennan, Limestone, and Freestone counties, including Waco, Mexia, and Teague.
Officials claimed investigators confiscated around 826 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 47.25 grams of marijuana, two rifles, a revolver, $4,384 in alleged narcotics revenues, and a vehicle that is awaiting forfeiture proceedings.
Authorities said the months-long investigation culminated in the seizure of nearly 3,400 grams of methamphetamine prior to the arrests.
During the operation, one additional suspect was apprehended on unrelated outstanding warrants.
If convicted, Pate, Badger, and Sanders could face ten to life in federal prison.
