3 people arrested after large fentanyl bust in Pennsylvania

Three people face criminal charges following a significant narcotics seizure in Northeast Philadelphia, which investigators say interrupted a statewide fentanyl trafficking operation.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office reported on Friday that Johan Manuel Almonte-Ortiz, 26, Argedys Noel De La Cruz Jerez, 33, and Domingo Cedeno-Pimentel, 37, were detained and charged with felony narcotics trafficking, conspiracy, and other offenses.

Investigators said they seized five kilograms of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $2 million.

Law enforcement investigators executed warrants earlier this week at homes on Montague and Wellington Streets, where officials said they discovered an active narcotics packing operation.

Authorities claimed the inquiry resulted in the closure of what they described as a statewide trafficking network.

No other information regarding the investigation or the individuals’ court appearances was immediately revealed.
