Mississippi man receives 15-year prison sentence for meth trafficking

Dale Wayne Griggs received a 15-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to selling methamphetamine in Mississippi, according to court records.

On May 14, 2026, Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. sentenced Griggs to 40 years in prison, 25 of which would be suspended. Griggs must serve the remaining 15 years without the prospect of parole or early release.

According to court documents, Griggs will be subject to five years of post-release monitoring after serving his term. The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit investigated the case, and the District Attorney’s Office commended them for their work.

According to the announcement, District Attorney Jason D. Herring of the First Circuit Court District praised law officers for their continuous pursuit of narcotics dealers.
