A man and a woman were tragically shot behind a West Baltimore block early Friday morning, forcing homicide detectives to search for answers after both victims died from their injuries at local hospitals.
According to Baltimore Police, Southwest District patrol officers rushed to the rear of the 1800 block of West Lexington Street at 12:49 a.m. Friday for reports of a shooting.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a 22-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man with suspected gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transferred to nearby hospitals for treatment, but authorities say they died as a result of their injuries.
Investigators have not revealed the victims’ identities, and no suspect information was immediately available Friday morning.
Baltimore homicide detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
