Georgia resident apprehended after large drug bust on I-22 in Mississippi

A Georgia man is facing many drug trafficking charges after a huge narcotics seizure occurred during a commercial vehicle inspection on Interstate 22 in Pontotoc County.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, the seizure occurred Sunday during a routine check of I-22.

Authorities stated officers recovered 376 pounds of methamphetamine, 82 pounds of marijuana, and 2 kilograms of powder cocaine.

The driver, 32-year-old Ramar Lloyd of McDonough, Georgia, was detained on the spot.

Officials said Lloyd is now facing multiple drug trafficking allegations. Additional information on the inquiry and anticipated court appearances were not immediately available.
