Portland police officer apprehended again after domestic violence case

A Portland police officer who was apprehended and released late last year on domestic violence charges has been re-arrested for allegedly breaking his release agreement.

Portland police said they were told on Monday that Sherwood police were investigating officer Jimmy Pryce, a 27-year police bureau veteran, for criminal conduct. Pryce handed himself in to the Washington County Jail on Tuesday. Pryce resides in Sherwood.

However, his most recent issues arise from an event in November, when the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Pryce on charges of strangling, fourth-degree assault in the presence of a child, and harassment.

He was arraigned on December 11 and signed a release agreement at the same time, according to court documents. Under the conditions of his release agreement, he is not allowed to contact the victim or possess firearms.

Sherwood police spokeswoman Paul Mattson stated that Pryce breached the release agreement by contacting the victim in the first case, which is why the agency is investigating.
