Undercover Miami-Dade operation leads to arrest on human trafficking and child exploitation charges

An undercover Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office investigation targeting human trafficking resulted in the arrest of a Sweetwater resident suspected of arranging a meeting with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl, authorities said.

According to an arrest document, Abdoul Haseeb, 21, was charged with human trafficking of a juvenile, using a computer service to travel to meet a minor, and using computer services unlawfully.

According to investigators from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Squad, the operation entailed undercover deputies posting an internet advertisement in order to locate individuals willing to engage in criminal sexual conduct with kids.

According to the affidavit, Haseeb called the phone number indicated in the advertising and began speaking with an undercover officer portraying the mother of a juvenile girl.

During the talks, deputies said Haseeb agreed to pay $200 to meet with someone he thought was 15 years old.

According to the affidavit, Haseeb later appeared to an undisclosed location in Miami-Dade County, where he paid the agreed-upon amount and was brought into custody by deputies.

According to jail records, Haseeb was brought to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and is currently being held without release pending a bond hearing.
