Kilgore police searching for fugitive accused of assault and possible drug possession

The Kilgore Police Department released a statement on Thursday on their hunt for a man accused of violating an order of protection.

Scotty Bradberry was processed in Kilgore’s jail last week for assault/family violence with previous offenses, according to police. He was taken to Gregg County Jail but was later released and returned to Kilgore.

A detective who was aware of an active protective order prohibiting Bradberry from approaching a residence in Kilgore observed him there.

When Bradberry fled the house, the investigator pursued him. Additional KPD officers, Kilgore College cops, and the KFD fire marshal set up a perimeter, launched drones, and requested a K-9 unit.

K9 Santo successfully followed Bradberry’s scent around the neighborhood. He found Bradberry’s cell phone, as well as suspected meth bags and paraphernalia that he had dropped while escaping.

Bradberry was not found; however, due to the high head index, the search was called off after more than an hour.

KPD stated that they are determined to get Bradberry and have asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 903-983-1559 or 911.

“Help us arrest him before he harms another lady,” they said at the end of their statement.
