2 men accused of attempted arson of a Toledo home

Two men were taken into custody early Tuesday morning for allegedly attempting to burn down a Toledo home, according to court records.

According to officials, Brandon Connolly, 34, and Tracy McLain Jr., 32, both of Toledo, attempted to burn down a residence on the 1000 block of Newbury Street, near Broadway, around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police on the scene reported that both men and the home’s exterior reeked of gasoline. They further stated that they discovered a red plastic gas can and lighter near the suspects at the time of arrest.

Connolly and McLain were arrested for arson and are being held on $25,000 bail. Both men are scheduled to appear again in court on July 14.
