A Mississippi woman faces many felony charges after her four underage children tested positive for illegal substances, authorities announced.
Nydia Hudson, age 28, was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal child endangerment. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the allegations arise from a July 1 document that revealed Hudson and her children had unspecified illegal narcotics in their systems.
Deputies apprehended Hudson at her home on July 2, and she was taken into custody without incident. She was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and later appeared before a judge, who set a bond of $10,000.
Officials have not specified who presently has custody of the children, and they have reported no damage to the youths caused by the chemicals. The case is still under active investigation.
