Man Discovered Dead In Car Blocking Harbor Freeway

A 66-year-old man was discovered dead inside a vehicle obstructing the Harbor (110) Freeway’s southbound lanes on Saturday, authorities said.

The find was made shortly after 10:30 p.m. Friday on the southbound Harbor Freeway, just south of the Eighth Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was alleged to have been found with his head resting on the car’s steering wheel. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The individual was recognized by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Miguel Linares Galdamez. His city of residence was unavailable.

An autopsy was scheduled to ascertain the cause of Galdamez’s death.

The CHP issued a Sigalert around 11:35 p.m., closing two southbound lanes. It was cancelled at 2:26 a.m. Saturday.
