A 24-year-old Fruitland Park woman was detained early Wednesday morning after a deputy spotted her using a frying pan as a weapon.
At after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call at a Bushnell residence.
According to the arrest report, a deputy approached the home’s front porch and assessed the situation through the front door’s window. From that vantage point, the deputy saw Dyness Leshon Rose Foster holding a pan and threateningly pointing it at the victim.
The two people briefly vanished from the deputy’s field of sight before reappearing shortly later. The deputy then saw Foster strike the victim in the upper chest with the palms of her hands.
Deputies divided the parties and conducted interviews. After interviewing with everyone involved, Foster was determined to be the main aggressor in the brawl.
Foster was arrested and charged with domestic assault, a misdemeanor. She was detained at the Sumter County Detention Center and is being held without bond because she was already on felony probation at the time of the event.
Foster is no unknown to local law enforcement. She was previously arrested for hit-and-run and submitting a fake police report after fleeing the scene of a crash near U.S. 301 and County Road 466 and being apprehended at the Lake Miona Recreation Center, where she told authorities a fabricated tale.
