A driver is in custody after leading Richmond County deputies on a chase that resulted in a wreck on Thursday evening.
Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a black BMW vehicle with no license plate on Tubman Home Road at Gordon Highway around 6:30 p.m. Willie Junior Brown, 33, refused to stop and led deputies on a chase, according to law officials.
Deputies say Brown lost control of the car in the 2500 block of Blueberry Drive, colliding with an unoccupied 1999 Chevrolet Silverado.
Brown’s vehicle flipped over, and he attempted to leave on foot before being apprehended.
Deputies say Brown was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Several criminal charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
