4 taken into custody in connection with fatal shooting of 17-year-old in Algiers

NOPD officials announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with a March homicide in Algiers.

Noe Padilla, 17, was shot and murdered on March 23 near Socrates St. and Brooklyn Avenue, according to police.

According to authorities, about 2 a.m., a group of men were approached by a group of strangers, resulting in an argument. When the first group entered their vehicle to flee, the suspects opened fire, killing two people. The two victims were transported to the hospital, where Padilla died.

Officials claimed they obtained arrest warrants for Angel Balderon, Bryan Armando Estrada-Hernandez, and Jeffrey Mulul following a thorough investigation that included many parishes, offenses, and collaboration with other law enforcement organizations. These three have already been identified and charged with one crime of second-degree murder and four charges of attempted second-degree murder.

Andrea Orozco was found and detained on Tuesday (July 15) after a brief standoff with U.S. Marshals and NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad personnel at a home in the 3100 block of Bienville St., according to officials.

According to NOPD, she was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of principal to second-degree murder and four charges of principal to attempted second-degree murder.
