An Ohio woman claims she won a $30,000 lottery jackpot after responding to what she believes was a message from her late husband.
According to the Ohio Lottery, Angie stopped at a Certified Oil gas station in Mount Gilead in June because she felt driven to turn in and buy petrol while driving home from babysitting her grandchildren.
The excursion occurred just days after her wedding anniversary. Her husband, Steve, died three years ago, one day after their anniversary.
Angie purchased four scratch-off tickets as an anniversary gift for herself at the petrol station, opting for higher-priced tickets because her husband had always encouraged her to do so.
She won the top prize of $30,000 with a $30 Wild Cash Tripler scratch-off ticket.
After state and federal taxes, Angie will earn $21,975.
She intends to use the funds to repay a loan she obtained after repairing the engine in her vehicle and making extensive repairs to her late husband’s truck.
According to the Ohio Lottery, her husband’s win was not his first stroke of luck. Before becoming unwell, Steve purchased lotto tickets and put them in his pickup. Months later, Angie discovered the tickets, one of which was worth $30,000, which the couple used to refurbish their home.
