Ponca City man apprehended after domestic disturbance leads to officer-involved shooting

Authorities say a Ponca City man is facing many charges after a domestic disturbance and officer-involved shooting.

Shortly before midnight, Ponca City Police Department officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

When authorities arrived, they spoke with a mother and her child, who said 48-year-old Douglas Narron assaulted and choked the child.

Narron allegedly opened fire on police as they attempted to speak with him via the front door.

Officers fired fire, and Narron retreated back into his home.

Narron freely left the house, threw down his pistol, and continued to approach the officers.

Authorities said they used tasers on Narron and were able to arrest him.

Narron was treated at a local hospital and arrested on charges of child abuse, reckless conduct with a firearm endangering others, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, impeding a law enforcement officer, and four counts of firing with intent to kill.

None of the officers involved were injured.
