A federal judge sentenced two men from Pennsylvania to life in prison yesterday after they were found guilty of mailing a woman a bomb that detonated, killing her and destroying her home.
On October 4th, 2019, an explosion and fire destroyed a home in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and authorities discovered the death of 34-year-old Shanna Carlson inside the demolished structure.
Federal authorities, working with Pennsylvania state police and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, located and indicted two suspects: Clint Addleman, a methamphetamine dealer, and Kris Nevling, one of his customers.
They told the court that they created a bomb and delivered it to Carlson, who owed Addleman $1,000 in drug debt.
The agents confirm that Carlson opened the package and mistakenly detonated the bomb, killing her and destroying the building.
A federal grand jury indicted both individuals, charging them with deliberately destroying property with an explosive device, while Addleman was charged with destruction resulting in death.
