A Villager was detained following an alleged physical incident with a woman who he claimed refused to “stop yelling” at their home in Citrus Grove.
Isaac Lesher, 42, was arrested Saturday afternoon at his house at 6086 Rodriguez Lane after Wildwood Police Department officers responded to a 911 call concerning a physical incident.
The woman told officers she had a “pinched nerve” and neck pain, and the couple got into an argument because she was fatigued and wanted to go to bed early. Lesher said investigators that the woman “kept yelling” at him, which made him frustrated.
Lesher testified to authorities that he began the physical contact, grabbed the woman’s clothing with both hands and pushed her against a wall to get her to stop. He expressly informed officers, “I was not attempting to beat her up. “I was just trying to get her to stop yelling at me,” the arrest report reads.
During the altercation, the woman was shoved against a kitchen window, and her arm struck a countertop, breaking a piece off. She also had a tiny scrape on her nose.
The woman told investigators that she scratched Lesher’s face in an attempt to get him off of her. When police came, they discovered that Lesher had fresh blood on his face and clothes.
Following the initial scuffle, the woman claimed that she was phoning 911. Lesher allegedly ordered her, “No, don’t call 911,” and sought to take her cellphone, resulting in a physical altercation over the device.
The report stated that Lesher and the wife had been married for 17 years.
He was detained on a misdemeanor violence charge and a felony obstructing justice charge for interfering with law enforcement communication. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and released after paying a $4,500 bond.
