Police took three boys from Warren into custody after a shooting incident that happened near the Canfield Fairgrounds along Fairground Boulevard on Sunday night, Sept. 6.
Canfield Police Chief Chuck Colucci stated that the search for the juveniles was comprehensive, involving 15 Canfield officers, 20 sheriff’s deputies, and multiple K-9 units.
“With the drones, all the police officers and the K-9s, we did segment off all different areas, and then we expanded the boundaries as far as we possibly could,” Colucci stated. “We also reached out to hospitals, obviously, here in Youngstown, Trumbull County, East Liverpool, Portage County.”
Police reported receiving the call around 11:20 p.m. A gun was discovered in a backyard behind a shed, and the detained youngsters acknowledged to shooting it.
Two of the three in detention are facing charges.
Nobody got wounded.
