Father apprehended after 22-year-old daughter shot and killed in East Cleveland

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman that occurred in East Cleveland early Sunday morning.

According to a release, deputies arrived to the 1200 block of 134th Street in East Cleveland at around 1:15 a.m. for a complaint of a lady being shot.

According to preliminary information, the suspect and father called the East Cleveland Police Department to report that he had shot his daughter.

According to the release, deputies responded to the address, as did officers of the East Cleveland Police Department.

When authorities arrived at the house, they found the 22-year-old lady in a bedroom with a gunshot wound.

She was pronounced dead on the scene, and her father was not at home.

Deputies stated personnel of the CCSD Major Crimes Detective Bureau came to the area to conduct an investigation.

The CCSD Community Services Unit LAO worked to locate the father, who was eventually found in a vehicle on Cleveland’s west side.

Deputies made a traffic stop and detained him without incident.

According to the announcement, the incident is still being investigated, and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the final cause of death.
